Wood Stairs in detailThe rest of what we do
The three above are most of the work. These come up just as often, and we take them on the same way.
-
Laminate
Click together laminate plank over a prepared, level subfloor, with the expansion gap at the walls and the trim work that finishes it.
-
Engineered Wood
Engineered board glued or nailed down. Usually the right answer over a concrete slab or in a basement, where solid wood moves too much.
-
Tile
Ceramic and porcelain tile set on a flat, sound substrate, so the joints stay straight and no edge sits proud of the one beside it.
-
Carpet
Carpet laid over the right underlay, stretched in properly and finished at doorways and thresholds.
-
Subfloor Prep and Leveling
Self leveling compound, patching and grinding. The part that gets covered up, and the reason the floor on top of it lies flat and stays flat.
-
Refinishing
Sanding back and refinishing a floor that is already down, where the boards are sound and it is the finish that has had enough.
-
Floor Repairs
Damaged boards swapped out, squeaks chased down, and worn sections patched back into the floor around them.
-
Baseboards and Trim
Baseboard, quarter round and thresholds cut and fitted, so the floor finishes cleanly at every wall and doorway.
A finished floor, from the doorway
Dark plank running out towards the patio doors, filmed on the day the job was finished. No two rooms take the same layout, and the cuts around cabinets, doorways and vents are where that shows.
